be still my heart...

I do love to see my children lounging with a book, dirty feet and all! This time I captured Emma in a sweet quiet moment.

pure comfort

Manda's stitches and wounded mouth will only allow for liquids and soft foods. A bowl of chocolate pudding is just what the doctor ordered...

A day in the life....

Upon our return from Grandpa's festivities, we had plans to attend our littlest neighbor's birthday party. She just turned one! But instead we landed in the ER with Manda. While Steve and I were gathering our things to head out, she jumped on her scooter, slipped, and fell face first on the upturned metal handle. Several hours and eight stitches later we were home. I think it was about equally traumatic for Emma who saw it all and cried almost as hard. It's at times like these that I recognize their "twinness".

90 years of life

Yesterday we celebrated my grandpa's 90th birthday. As a well-respected basketball coach at Northern Arizona University, he made a lasting impact on many players. We were delighted to listen in on the reminiscings as several of them surprised him by stopping in. Here are a couple pics.

first things first

Every morning for the past year or so I have started my day with a cup of tea. Barry's Irish tea. With sugar and milk. Please don't talk to me, rush me, or need me until the last golden drop.

My tea philosophy,

"Most problems could be diminished by the drinking of tea and the thinking through of things that could be done while tea was being drunk. And even if it did not solve problems, at least it could put them off for a little while, which we sometimes needed to do, we really did."
